The International Surfing Association is committed to increasing the quality of officiating at all ISA events and for all member countries. The competition system is only as good as the officials that are responsible in determining the outcome of the event. It is extremely important that every nation has a quality officials’ development program operating successfully.

The ISA endorse the Level 1 and 2 courses that are held at the World Surfing Games and in all of the licensed countries. This is the world standard in quality event officiating and every nation is encouraged to participate.

There are two levels of ISA accreditation. The level 1 accreditation is achieved at all ISA World events by all participating judges and is a minimum requirement. The level 2 judging and officiating accreditation is achieved by completing the full ISA Level 2 courses that are held in licensed countries.
